This year we will arrive on time to enjoy many street festivals with flowers decorating the streets and festivals throughout Guatemala. If you want to stay for Easter I can help you arrange to stay after the official trip ends. Traditionally the towns are packed so planning ahead is essential.

October 2020 Guatemala
GUATEMALA TRIP Date to be announced
Cost $2800 for nine-days includes all hotels and ground transportation.
We pick you up at the airport in Guatemala and your journey begins in this spectacular country of the Mayan Indian. Guatemala is my favorite country in Latin America. As you step across the threshold into the mysterious and breathtaking wonders of the ancient Mayan world you may feel you've stepped back in time.
Where ever you are as a photographer you'll make some incredible photos to bring home. We get up early to photograph with the best light and take the opportunity to do some nighttime shooting during clear nights and the night culture. Every few days we circle around to critique and share photos because that's the best way to get better and it's fun to see what everyone is shooting.
Towering volcanoes, the colorful Mayan indigenous culture, and ancient Lake Atitlan each offers with its own magical journey. You'll be up close with the Mayan cultures and awe-inspiring natural wonders.
Did you know there are 22 native languages spoken in Guatemala? There's so much to experience.
We kickstart our journey in the colonial town of Antigua. Then the next day we'll travel to the highlands and cruise across the lake in a motorboat to our hotel. We'll stay at a lovely quaint locally owned hotel right on the water's edge. We choose local to support the local economy and the indigenous people.
Options include Canoeing, mountain climbing, fishing, bird watching and a coffee farm tour or hanging out in your hammock and meandering through the streets with your camera.
We have many group activities and have several photo shares in the evening where you can ask questions about your photography and show your images if you choose. If you want critiques it is included in the trip. http://www.laughingplanet.org
